Too much news: Top ten cartoons of the week

Are we ever going to have another slow news week?

Trump threatening to nationalize elections, A.I.’s continued stampede through our lives, the Washington Post’s implosion, and the Super Bowl are just some of the topics that made our list of the most popular cartoons of the week.

The most reprinted was a funny Gary McCoy riff on our growing dependence on chatbots and A.I. Dave Whamond – and not a robot – drew four of our 10 most popular cartoons this week, including a funny Groundhog Day gag and a pointed toon about the Jeff Bezos-owned Post dying in darkness after laying off a third of the staff.

At least the Post didn’t lay off their staff cartoonist – she quit last year, when her editor tried to kill a cartoon going after Bezos and other billionaires for sucking up to Trump. Doesn’t look like much has changed.
