2025 is here! Top ten cartoons of the week

2025 will certainly be a year to remember, capped with Donald Trump returning to the White House. But 2024 was no slouch on the news front thanks to a wild election in the U.S., chaos in the Middle East, at least two assassination attempts, and Joe Biden being ushered out of the presidential race.

That was the theme of Dave Whamond’s New Year’s cartoon featuring Father Time and Baby New Year, which was a hit among editors.

Whamond had a great week, drawing three of our four most-reprinted cartoons. I laughed at his hilarious New Year’s resolution cartoon, which featured a to-do list needing a bit of work.
